What we believe

Saved by grace. Living for his glory.

At the heart of our beliefs is the good news of Jesus Christ: that we are saved by grace alone, through faith alone, in Christ alone — so we can live in restored relationship with God and others.

We believe…

We believe God created us in his image. He created us for relationship with himself but we rejected him and fell into sin. We are separated from God and struggle in our relationships with each other. Because of our sin we are in need of forgiveness. In his mercy and grace, God sent his Son, Jesus Christ, into the world to die for our sins. Through faith, his perfect life and sacrifice is given to us so we can share in his righteousness and be restored to a relationship with God. We can know God today and we are promised both the ability to live in peace with others and a perfect life with him for eternity.

What does it mean to be Reformed?

At the heart of Reformed belief are five core truths that remind us that our hope is in God alone.

By Scripture Alone
The Bible is the inspired and trustworthy Word of God. It is without error and serves as the foundation for everything we believe, teach and know about God’s plan of salvation through Jesus Christ.
By Faith Alone
Salvation is a gift from God. We cannot earn our salvation by works, we received it through faith in Jesus Christ.
By Grace Alone
Our salvation has been secured by Jesus Christ. On our own, we cannot earn favour with God through our works. Salvation is given to us only because of his grace and love.
Through Christ Alone
Jesus is the mediator between God and man. Christ alone is the way to our salvation.
Glory to God Alone
God reigns over all creation, and he alone is worthy of our praise. We worship him above all else, seeking to live for his glory — not the approval of people or the traditions of man.

Rooted in truth: Our historic confessions and creeds

Creeds and confessions are time-tested summaries of what we believe the Bible teaches. Drawn from Scripture and affirmed by believers throughout church history, they help the church remain faithful to the truth of the gospel, and guide us in faithful worship, teaching and living.
